ProjectionFL (Projection For Life and Retirement) is a detailed and thorough financial planning tool for life. You define a model of your annual financial activity.  You can then step through projecting the results for each future year or you can project through retirement to end of life. You can see the key amounts from each years 1040 tax return, account status, all significant transactions and your net worth. 

Regardless of your age and financial situation, ProjectionFL will help you develop a financial plan for the remainder of your life. If you are young and earning a satisfactory income you can develop a plan that can provide a comfortable retirement.  If you are already retired and have adequate assets your plan can support the remainder of your life.  In either case the sooner you develop and follow a plan the better.  

You define accounts to ProjectionFL to cover all assets, incomes and expenses. You define percentages to be used to account for inflation and gains or you use the ProjectionFL defaults.  You define priorities which will direct the transfer of surplus funds to investments or to pay off loans. Similarly your deficits are covered by transfers from the sale of investments, property or from borrowing. You define your financial situation from your latest tax return and account statements. You project one year and validate that the results is consistent with your previous year. Once you have a valid base for your plan you can test many variations until you develop a plan that satisfies your need. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND TIME - If you can do your own taxes with or without an application you can probably successfully use ProjectionFL. Your initial plan will require approximately the same investment in time as was required for preparing your initial tax return.  Your "WHAT IFS" can take hours to days.
